The Steepest of Learning Curves

Just a quick post...

I have just driven out of the airport and along the highway to see that the red and white striped, high visibility, reinforced steel height limitation barrier that they put up at the flyover entrance at Carrefour, now has a truck embedded underneath it - both vehicle and barrier are thrashed.

This is the third one that has been put up! When will they ever learn!

Oh, geez. We drove under it for the first time yesterday; my guess was that it wouldn't last a month. I underestimated our drivers hereabouts!

That is too funny. :)

hahahahahahahaha, I think the truck drivers take the height posted on the barrier as human height not the transport height :D. This is hilarious.

Funny, but sadly they 'are' morons. I work in a sufficiently large company. We have a Logistics & Heavy Machinery department operating ~ 500 such vehicles (cranes, vans, trailers, trucks). And if you see the average IQ of the average driver, I'd shudder to sit with such a guy and travel from Marmul to Muscat with a deadline to reach here by such-and-such. Add to that the deadline on heavy vehicles on the road (and minorly add to that the restrictions on hiring drivers)

A coupla months ago I had to renew my visa, and was provided a car & driver for that. We got delayed there & I had to rush back for a meet and the frakkin arse drove me from Seeb to Central Bank in 20 minutes at 11 am!!!! I was ready to slam the fire extinguisher on his head. Just Dumb!

I can very well imagine these people taking their 18-wheeler into Carrefour's 3rd floor parking just to get a can of pepsi and a bag of chips on the way!

*shudder*

Good to see they've solved the problem by erecting another height limitation barrier in front of the height limitation barrier. Maybe when that gets knocked down they'll erect another barrier in front of the barrier in front of the barrier...
