Wrong.
Depends on who's flying it.

Don't RAFO have experienced pilots who fly only one machine? I heard indians came with pilots from other machines.next time su30 I hear

Wow, nice joint exercise there! And I take it we didn't suck all that much.
It would be interesting to get an idea of the IAF from a foreigner's perspective. We are too patriotic to actually question our Air Force :)

Aren't Jaguars being replaced around the world? Whats the point of the exercise?

Jet Driver said...

Hammad

Not replaced in India nor in Oman.
Point of the exercise is "building relationships" and "blowing up pirates"!

Ahaa! But isn't the reason why Oman is getting Euro fighter is because jags are old.

Blowing up pirates??? Using jags? Wouldn't it be easier to get naval helicopters to launch some missiles? Woudnt that be cheaper to do?

Money is no object - especially when you want to REALLY send a message! :)

(No one said Oman was getting Eurofighter...yet!)

lol! All this doesn't make sense to me, I understand building relationships, RAFO and IAF should have good relations etc. But why would they use land based Jags? India has naval jags, why didnt IAF choose to send them? Its easier to send a bloody missile at a pirate vessel than spend $100k+ for a bunch of jaguars to fly out to Somalia/Yemen and drop a bomb. I don't know, I suppose the people who call the shots have different ideas, I guess. :)

Were RAFO impressed with IAF or is it just the usual media kiss assing with each other?

About EF: Only what I have heard in the press and my sources mate ;)

Had a further think on the exercise and I realised how important this is for IAF considering neighbouring assets are in similar terrain. If there is a need to take them out, it will have to be Jags. No more comments on the subject due to the strategic nature of it. It all makes sense now.
